How NextGen records football activities, safeguards children and manages each family’s choices.
Our commitment to children
NextGen Academy recognises the need to ensure the welfare and safety of all children involved in its activities. We explain how live streams and photographs, video or audio recordings of children will be used and, where appropriate, obtain the approval of the child’s parent or carer.
Recording team football
Football is a team game. If your child participates at an event that is live streamed, recorded or photographed, it may be unavoidable for them to appear incidentally. If you do not permit their image or voice to be used, we will take reasonable steps to avoid specific images, recordings or camera shots of your child. Where that is not feasible, we will obscure or crop their image in material we publish and will not use their voice in published material.
How we use audio-visual material
NextGen Academy uses live streams and audio-visual material primarily to promote the academy, encourage participation, and support training and education. Photography covers still images; video and audio covers moving images and sound; social-media permission covers publication of suitable approved material on NextGen’s official social channels.
Responsible recording
NextGen Academy takes reasonable steps to ensure that live streams and audio-visual material commissioned or created by the academy, including material featuring children, is used only for the purposes explained. Content is selected with children’s dignity, safety and safeguarding in mind, and staff must follow academy safeguarding and content-handling procedures.
A separate choice for every child
Photography, video and audio, and social-media use are separate, optional choices and are not a condition of joining NextGen Academy. A decision is recorded for each child. If a use is not permitted, the child appears in the management restriction register so staff can plan recording appropriately.
Changing your preferences
You can update each child’s choices at any time through Terms & permissions in the NextGen Academy members area. Every change creates a new dated record without deleting the previous decision. A new choice applies to future use after it has been received and processed.
Content already published
Changing a choice cannot always remove printed material already distributed or material already shared by others, but NextGen will take reasonable steps to stop new use and remove material from channels it controls where practical and lawful.
Complaints, concerns and version
If you have concerns about live streams or audio-visual material featuring children, contact info@next-gen-academy.com. This notice is effective from 21 July 2026; its policy version and the exact time of each decision are retained with the family and child record.
